Imagine partying the night away on your own mountaintop, surrounded by forest, friends and family on your wedding day. Those dreams are now being made into a reality at Sun Peaks Resort’s new premiere reception venue, the mid-mountain Sunburst Lodge.
“It’s a brand new wedding venue that we’ve just developed for our guests to have that full mountain top experience and a chance for them to really get away from everything and have their own gorgeous, breathtaking venue on their own mountain,” said the Sun Peaks’ wedding co-ordinator Kaitlyn Lamotte.
Only accessible by use of the Sunburst chairlift, the newly renovated lodge with timber frame elements starts the evening with a sense of adventure by arriving via the lift. Guests can take in stunning views of Sun Peaks from above as the sun sets down the valley.
“There’s no streetlights up there; you’re completely under the stars,” said Lamotte.
With high vaulted ceilings and exposed wood beams, this location drips in rustic elegance.
“It has a massive patio which is wonderful for guests who are mingling or if you want to dance under the stars,” said Lamotte.
Along with renovation of the lodge, the kitchen also underwent an overall with a brand new euro-asian inspired menu created by executive chef Hans Stierli. With his catering teams expertise, Stierli offer a variety of dinner options including chicken, beef, salmon and poke bowl.
“The bride and groom can pick their courses for their own tastes,” explained Stierli.
With a passion for fresh and local ingredients, Stierli and his team create unique menus for each couples’ specific requests.
The venue has the capacity to hold 130 guests and is available in the summer season from June to the long weekend in September. Due to its remote location, it’s well suited for the adventurous at heart who are looking for an intimate, tranquil space away from everyday life.
